About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Parking Attendant to join our team at the University of Minnesota. As a key member of our parking services team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring the efficient operation of our parking facilities, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service to our patrons, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Operate computerized cash registers and process transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Collect fees and parking tickets, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with University policies.
  • Control parking of vehicles, ensuring optimal utilization of space and minimizing congestion.
  • Report any issues or concerns to the appropriate parking personnel, taking prompt action to resolve problems.
  • Handle minor complaints and respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives.
  • Perform quality work in an efficient and timely manner, adhering to established University and parking services procedures and standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with one year of retail experience in dealing with the public and handling cash.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a parking program or related field.
  • Knowledge of computerized parking systems and ability to learn new software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service and quality work.
