Commercial Construction Internship Opportunity

HITT Contracting, Inc. is a leading national general contractor offering a competitive internship program for students pursuing a degree in construction, engineering, or business. As a Commercial Construction Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in construction management, working alongside industry leaders and participating in professional networking events, career development courses, and personal growth opportunities.

Responsibilities:
  • Support project management teams with subcontractor and supplier coordination, material tracking, and file management.
  • Assist with progress updates and reporting for client review.
  • Aid in document control processes, including drafting submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Assist in preparing bid packages and evaluating subcontractor bids.
  • Conduct preconstruction procedures, reviewing proposals, specifications, and drawings, and attending internal team meetings and client walkthroughs.
  • Collaborate with onsite superintendents and field-based teams to assist with project layout, construction drawing, trade coordination, verification of site conditions, safety, and quality control inspections.
  • Participate in social and networking events, weekly training and educational classes, and HITT corporate responsibility activities.
Qualifications:
  • Current student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited university within the construction, engineering, or business concentrations.
  • Previous industry internship, volunteer work, or work experience is a plus.
  • Passion for the construction and general contracting industry.
  • Ability to work approximately 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week program.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple, competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn project-specific software systems, including Microsoft Office 365 and Procore.
  • Exceptional customer and client focus with ability to succeed in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
