Transformative AI Engineering Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our AI Engineering team at ServiceNow. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable Python code for our AI-driven software solutions.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to build and deploy high-quality features. You'll have the chance to integrate ML/AI capabilities into the ServiceNow platform, help evolve the MLOps process, and lead code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and enforce best practices in coding, design, and architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance AI-driven software solutions.
  • Integrate ML/AI capabilities into the ServiceNow platform.
  • Help evolve the MLOps process our team follows.
  • Lead code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and enforce best practices in coding, design, and architecture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and deploy high-quality features.
  • Work with cloud platforms (Azure, Databricks, GCP, AWS, etc.) to develop and deploy cloud-based solutions.
  • Identify and resolve software defects through debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Continuously improve existing codebases to increase maintainability, performance, and scalability.
  • Drive the technical direction of key projects and ensure alignment with overall business goals.
  • Ensure system security and data protection principles are embedded in solutions.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience using Python.
  • Strong understanding of design patterns, integration patterns/practice, data modeling principles, and best practices.
  • Experience with microservices architecture.
  • Expertise in building and optimizing scalable back-end systems and APIs.
  • Strong experience with web frameworks like Flask and FastAPI.
  • Familiarity with asynchronous programming and frameworks (e.g., AsyncIO, Celery).
  • Solid understanding of relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Snowflake, Databricks, Redis, ElasticSearch, etc.).
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.).
  • Proficient understanding of version control tools (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on performance tuning, scalability, and security.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of machine learning frameworks or data science is a big plus.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS) is a plus.

We offer a competitive salary, equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.

We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan, and family leave programs (subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to change based on work location.
