Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement PLC control systems for automated lines, ensuring optimal process efficiency and productivity.

  • Participate in project-related turnover meetings, functional design reviews, and project team meetings to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Understand project scope, budgets, and schedules, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Assist the field service department with troubleshooting of legacy projects, as needed.
  • Participate in PLC code reviews to ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Develop and test newly developed PLC logic using state-of-the-art simulation environments to minimize onsite testing requirements.
  • Test newly developed PLC logic at client facilities and implement any necessary changes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer-related Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience with PLCs such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron CX, and others.
  • Knowledge of UL, NEC, and NFPA 70E standards, with CSA knowledge preferred but not required.
  • AutoCAD experience required.
  • Allen Bradley Studio 5000 and Allen Bradley RS 500 experience required.
  • Safety control system experience.
  • Willingness to travel 20-30% and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Understanding of network design and implementation, including Class types, subnet design, and IP assignment.
  • Designing HMI operator screen layouts to interface with PLC logic development.
  • Clean sheet PLC logic design and implementation using electrical schematics and machine layouts.
  • Understanding of controls engineering standards and best practices.
  • Capability to complete demanding assignments using advanced controls engineering methods and tools.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams to deliver optimal solutions.
  • Ability to quickly analyze, incorporate, and apply the latest information and concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and configuration.
  • Experience with robot programming, a plus.
