Job Summary

The Electrical Engineer III will be responsible for designing, creating Bills of Materials, debugging, and troubleshooting electrical systems. This role will involve directing work of others as needed and designing for various product lines. Key responsibilities include generating schematics, panel layout drawings, PLC and HMI programs, and accurate electrical Bills of Materials. The successful candidate will adhere to engineering processes and procedures and perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing moderate to complex electrical systems
  • Directing work of others as needed
  • Designing for various product lines
  • Generating schematics, panel layout drawings, PLC and HMI programs
  • Generating accurate electrical Bills of Materials
  • Adhering to engineering processes and procedures
Principal Contacts Inside/Outside the Company

This position will primarily communicate with other Engineers, Buyers, Estimators, Manufacturing personnel, Vendors, and Service Technicians. Occasional communication with customers is also expected.

Competency or Position Requirements
  • Complete understanding and application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field plus a general knowledge of related fields
  • Develops technical solutions for moderate to complex problems
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Design and programming of PLC's, HMI programs, and fault logic for machine control
  • Design and engineering of power circuits, panel layouts, and controls
  • Reading/interpreting complex electrical drawings and understanding of mechanical drawings
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
  • Ability to get along with a variety of personalities and individuals
  • Ability to utilize available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to meet budgets and deadlines
  • Experience working in an ISO Certified company a plus
  • Experience with root-cause analysis and problem-solving preferred
  • Ability to translate functional requirements into technical specifications
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply complex proprietary or industry standards and regulations
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required
  • 6+ years of Engineering experience
Equipment Used

This position will use a computer with Microsoft Office, telephone, copier, engineering measurement tools, MRP system, AutoCAD 2D and AutoCAD Electrical.
