  • Accounting Software and Systems: Uses standard spreadsheet and database software or an accounting applications package designed for general accounting.

  • Error Investigation and Correction: Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
  • Special Project Assistance: Provides special project assistance to the VP of Finance.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
  • Financial Data Analysis: Manipulate and analyze past and present financial data of the organization to produce business information used to support decisions.
  • Financial Review Meetings: Leads/assists monthly financial review meetings with the Company divisions and functions as the primary financial contact.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Supervises, assists, and mentors others in the Accounting department.
  • Team Environment and Culture: Fosters a team environment to facilitate meeting of individual and team goals.

Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting, and finance and 3-5 years of accounting/finance and analysis experience.
  • Supervisory Experience: A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience along with a minimum of 1 year of work experience in a related area such as billing, collections, settlements, accounting/finance, etc.
  • Accounting Software and Systems: Exceptional skills in utilizing automated accounting systems and software to meet responsibilities proficiently.
  • Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills for building and maintaining spreadsheets, analytical models, and database systems.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Attention to Detail and Organizational Skills: Must be detail-oriented and possess excellent organizational, prioritization, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Self-Motivation and Teamwork: Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task, and work independently.
  • Confidentiality and Customer Service: Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and proficient in responding to internal and external customer situations.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent communication skills (written, listening, and verbal) and ability to think creatively and provide creative contributions to projects.
  • Travel and Work Schedule: Willing and able to travel occasionally, including overnight travel.
Working Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
