Job Title: Lactation Consultant

At Methodist Health System, we are committed to providing exceptional care to our patients and their families. As a Lactation Consultant, you will play a vital role in supporting breastfeeding mothers and their babies during their stay with us.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess and address the lactation needs of breastfeeding mothers and their babies.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care to support breastfeeding success.
  • Provide education and support to breastfeeding mothers and their families.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other clinical disciplines to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Document patient assessments and interventions.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree from an accredited school required.
  • Bachelor's degree required to be obtained within 5 years of hire date.
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification within three months of hire required.
  • Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), Certified Lactation Educator (CLE), Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS) or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) required.
