Job Title: Lactation Consultant

At Methodist Health System, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Lactation Consultant to join our team. As a Lactation Consultant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and their families, promoting breastfeeding and lactation support.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide lactation support and education to patients and their families
  • Assess and address lactation-related issues and concerns
  • Develop and implement individualized lactation plans
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other clinical disciplines to ensure comprehensive care
  • Provide ongoing education and support to patients and their families
Requirements:
  • Associates degree from an accredited school required
  • Bachelor's degree required to be obtained by 5 years of hire date
  • 1 year experience from the list of health professions recognized by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE)
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification within three months of hire
  • Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), Certified Lactation Educator (CLE), Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS), or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification
