Job Description

Job Objective:

Provide exceptional customer service to donors at our store location. Maintain a clean and organized donation area, ensuring accuracy in handling transactions.

Essential Functions:
  • Present a professional appearance, adhering to dress code at all times.
  • Maintain a friendly demeanor, greeting donors and offering assistance as needed.
  • Ensure a clean and well-organized donation area.
  • Responsible for all operations and security matters while on duty.
  • Receive and receipt all donated materials, obtaining email addresses from donors when possible.
  • Safeguard all donated materials and assigned equipment.
  • Track donations according to center policy.
  • Courteously advise donors of unacceptable materials and offer pick-up services for heavy items.
  • Power sort donations as needed and report complaints, damage, or injuries.
  • Sort, load, and unload SA trucks according to center policy.
  • Support production processes as needed, with a flexible schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or currently pursuing.
  • Ability to speak, write, and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication.
  • Basic computer skills, including payroll program and ability to learn other programs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to instructions and deal with problems in standardized situations.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
Physical Requirements:

The physical requirements described are representative of those necessary to perform the duties of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands, handle, or feel, and hear or talk. The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

The work environment for this position is a store environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. The environment may be dusty and experience temperature fluctuations based on weather. May stand for extended periods. The employee is routinely exposed to outdoor weather.
