Payment Controls, a part of Cash Services, drives strategy and initiatives for movement of funds risk and portfolio governance oversight for Citi.
About the RoleThe Operational Risk Senior Manager manages risk and portfolio governance, has an in-depth understanding of movement of funds, and a good understanding of industry practices.
This role requires a thorough understanding of strategic direction for movement of funds as a capability, combined with a solid conceptual and practical grounding and expertise within the space.
Key Responsibilities- Establish central payments/movement of funds risk and portfolio governance
- Align payment taxonomy
- Define minimum control standards (including for PPC, FX validation, manual file uploads, FMI governance, funds/credit availability check, etc)
- Monitor payments risk/reduction
Establishes and oversees the application of operational risk policies, technology, and tools, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed movement of funds internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.
Works with colleagues in other areas of Risk Management, Finance, Compliance/Control, and the Businesses to assure appropriate management of Operational Risk processes.
Qualifications- 15+ years relevant experience
- Experienced in Movement of Funds/Payments Operational Risk. Knowledge of other risk disciplines (market risk, credit risk) a plus
- Demonstrated analytical ability; asks insightful questions, breaks analytical challenges into workable components, and draws meaningful conclusions
- Proficient in developing new ideas to mitigate risk and improve current processes
- Prioritizes high-impact potential problems effectively
Articulates clearly how risk technology supports the unit's business, as well as the issues due to gaps between the current technology and known business requirements.
Ability to measure and assess the impact of stress shocks, including fat-tailed risks. Well-versed in reviewing the dimensions of franchise risk.
Advanced Leadership skills. Operates as a leader, with an understanding and appreciation for diverse backgrounds.
EducationBachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred, and managerial experience
