The Senior Group Risk Specialist is a leadership position that requires a comprehensive and diverse range of risk management expertise. This leader will provide oversight and guidance on the rollout of a multi-year initiative to transform TD Bank's risk assessment practices. The successful candidate will help lead the implementation of appropriate risk frameworks and management activities to mitigate enterprise and/or business-wide risk exposures for key business segments of the Bank or functional area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide risk management expertise to business leaders and support the development and implementation of risk management strategies.
- Lead and support the implementation of risk frameworks and management activities to mitigate risk exposures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and assess risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Provide oversight and guidance on risk management practices and procedures.
- Develop and maintain risk management policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to senior management.
- Develop and implement risk management training programs for employees.
- Monitor and report on risk management metrics and key performance indicators.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree or technical certificate in a related field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in risk management, with a focus on operational risk.
- Advanced knowledge of risk management governance, programs, policies, practices, operating frameworks, and reporting.
- Knowledge of risk management environment, standards, regulations, and mitigation.
- Ability to contribute to strategic direction of the function and provide advice to senior leadership.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams and functions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience in non-financial risk assessment.
- Knowledge of risk management software and tools.
