Job Title: Director of Special Education

KIPP Delta is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Director of Special Education to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, the Director of Special Education will be responsible for developing and implementing special education strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure that all students with disabilities receive a high-quality education.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement special education strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Provide leadership and support to special education teachers and staff to ensure that students with disabilities receive a high-quality education.
  • Collaborate with school leaders and central office administrators to ensure that special education services are aligned with the school's overall mission and goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of special education programs and services to ensure that they are meeting the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Develop and implement professional development programs for special education teachers and staff to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality special education services.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field preferred.
  • Special Education certification required.
  • 5+ years of experience in special education, including 3+ years as a special education teacher or administrator.
  • Experience in developing and implementing special education strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience in providing leadership and support to special education teachers and staff.
  • Experience in collaborating with school leaders and central office administrators.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of special education programs and services.
  • Experience in developing and implementing professional development programs for special education teachers and staff.
