Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cake Decorator to join our team at Lowes Foods. As a Cake Decorator, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing cakes and pastries that exceed our customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service and interact with guests in a friendly and polite manner.
  • Prepare products for sale, including icing, decorating, pricing, packaging, and labeling.
  • Maintain product levels, quality, and freshness in the bakery.
  • Perform bakery clerk functions as needed.
  • Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, freezer, prep area, and sales area.
  • Clean work areas, couplers, and decorating bags properly.
  • Maintain the organization of the freezer, including proper rotation of product according to variety.
  • Communicate guest requests to management and temperature breakdowns to supervisors.
  • Keep supply areas neat, clean, and tidy at all times.
  • Rotate icings properly and scrape down buckets.
  • Use the cake manual as reference material.
  • Write on cakes and mix colors according to the color chart.
  • Masters the use of the airbrush.
  • Use the cake production sheet.
  • Achieve budgeted sales, shrink, and profits for the cake section of the bakery.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to read and understand information and direction.
  • Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.
