As a paralegal at Bachus & Schanker, LLC, you will play a crucial role in various facets of case management, ensuring excellent client interaction and participation in trial proceedings. Our paralegals are integral members of a robust team that strives for excellence. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the transition of case files from pre-litigation to litigation phases.
- Request and organize medical records pertinent to litigation.
- Assist in the preparation of both short and long form legal complaints.
- File and serve legal documents as required.
- Upload and maintain documents within client files.
- Monitor and track all case management and pretrial orders.
- Schedule and manage deadlines for plaintiff fact sheets.
- Complete and review plaintiff fact sheets.
- Coordinate attorney reviews of plaintiff fact sheets.
- Serve plaintiff fact sheets to defendants.
- Assist in drafting and dispatching requests for production and interrogatories.
- Organize depositions and mediations.
- Support the drafting and service of subpoenas.
- Follow up with clients for necessary information related to plaintiff fact sheets and other required documentation.
- Arrange meetings with experts and assist in the preparation and filing of Expert Disclosures.
- Draft and send client correspondence.
- Prepare co-counsel agreements and updates.
- Respond to inquiries from co-counsel.
- Manage docketing and calendaring tasks.
- Organize and maintain case files efficiently.
- Assist with the distribution of settlements and resolution of liens.
- Exhibit a strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with records management systems.
- Understanding of litigation concepts, terminology, and trial procedures.
- Strong knowledge of State and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Frequent client communication to provide updates and case information.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong time management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Outstanding proofreading abilities.
- Demonstrated compassion, energy, and enthusiasm.
- Ability to maintain focus and concentration throughout the workday.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range: $60,000 - $75,000, depending on experience.
