Radiologic Imaging Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our diagnostic imaging department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain patient clinical history and lab work, ensuring accurate documentation for licensed practitioners.
- Position and immobilize patients to best demonstrate anatomical areas of interest, prioritizing patient comfort and ability.
- Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
- Perform radiographic procedures by selecting and operating imaging equipment, and/or associated accessories to successfully complete procedures.
- Verify informed consent and complete pre and post-procedure documentation.
- Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures, applying aseptic surgical techniques as needed.
- Perform timeouts as required by policy.
- Identify, prepare, and/or administer medications/contrast as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
- Receive, relay, and document verbal, written, and electronic orders in patient medical records.
- Evaluate images for technical quality.
- Document patient dose exposures.
- Interact professionally with physicians, technologists, physician offices, hospital staff, patient family members, and patients.
- Operate radiographic equipment and accessories in accordance with ALARA principles.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institute (preferred)
- Certification and Registration with ARRT (required)
- State licensure (preferred, unless required by state where job is performed)
- BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH)
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) experience (preferred)
- 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care (preferred)
- Experience with Radiology Information System (preferred)
