Job Title: Tissue Donation Coordinator

At New England Donor Services, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Tissue Donation Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in guiding donor families through the tissue donation process, ensuring that their loved ones' gifts are used to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle incoming donor referral calls from hospital staff and clinical partners to obtain and evaluate medical information regarding potential tissue donor suitability
  • Work empathetically and compassionately with potential donor families to advocate for donation, conduct history questionnaires, and obtain informed consent to donation
  • Coordinate logistics of tissue recoveries with both internal and external partners and stakeholders
  • Follow best practices and provide exemplary customer service while communicating with teammates, partners, and stakeholders
What You'll Work:
  • Three 12-hour shifts per week
  • One 12-hour on-call shift every 2 weeks
  • A variety of Day, Mid, and Night shifts
  • Shifts you select in our collaborative self-scheduling model
  • Shifts in person and remote in our fully hybrid staffing model
  • Shifts that support our 24-hour, 365-day a year mission including weekends and holidays

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and one year of relevant experience; or, strong consideration will be given to candidates who have an Associate's degree, certification or license and 3+ years of relevant experience in medical field, health sciences, mental health or counseling with expertise in crisis intervention and/or grief counseling
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent telephone communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite, clinical databases, and Electronic Medical Records
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Must be flexible and proactive, and have a positive attitude
  • Ability to work both remotely from a home office setting and onsite in Waltham, MA
