Position Overview

Peraton is seeking a Systems Evaluation Engineer to contribute to our Cyber Mission business unit. This role involves supporting one of the most extensive enterprise engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community. The position requires a commitment of 1880 hours annually, with responsibilities carried out at a designated customer site.

Key Responsibilities

As a Systems Evaluation Engineer, you will be instrumental in assisting programs with test strategy formulation, execution, and ensuring compliance with enterprise standards for DT&E (Developmental Test and Evaluation). Your efforts will help verify the outcomes of specific programs by analyzing system functionality, assessing performance metrics, and ensuring alignment with Required Performance Measures (RPM) and Key Performance Parameters (KPP). The team advocates for the use of integrated testing methodologies to optimize results.

Specific Duties Include:
  • Identifying gaps, risks, and issues related to testing requirements and criteria.
  • Utilizing established Systems Engineering protocols to pinpoint interoperability and testing challenges.
  • Conducting Technical Reviews on Systems Engineering documentation and providing feedback to the Chief Systems Engineer.
  • Drafting technical reports that justify your recommendations.
  • Collaborating with the Operational Test & Assessment team to stay informed on program status and timelines.
  • Disseminating DT&E best practices and methodologies.
  • Partnering with customer entities to formulate testing policies and guidelines.
  • Advising programs and testing teams on current standards and practices for system integration and evaluation.
  • Assessing enterprise capabilities, system designs, requirements, and potential risks.
  • Guiding test teams in developing effective evaluation strategies.
  • Reviewing requirements to ensure they are testable.
  • Participating in system reviews to maintain requirement traceability.
  • Overseeing the preparation and execution of comprehensive test and evaluation plans.
  • Ensuring that integration and testing activities are synchronized with other organizational efforts.
  • Monitoring readiness of program test teams for integration and evaluation activities.
  • Recommending adjustments to testing configurations and procedures as necessary.
Qualifications

Required Experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field, coupled with a minimum of 20 years of systems engineering experience. Relevant engineering disciplines include but are not limited to Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, and Systems Engineering. A Master's degree or PhD may substitute for two years of experience. A high school diploma or GED combined with 24 years of systems engineering experience is also acceptable.
  • Proven experience in test planning and execution for complex software engineering projects.
  • Must possess TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience in establishing and automating testing processes for software engineering projects.
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools and continuous testing methodologies.
  • Adept at collaborating with organizations and testing teams to enhance test planning and execution.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of management.
  • Technical expertise and interpersonal skills necessary for collaboration with customers and senior leadership.

Compensation

The typical salary range for this position is $86,000 - $138,000, based on experience and other relevant factors.
