Position Summary:
DLBA Naval Architects is in search of a Naval Architect with a balanced mix of practical experience in naval architecture and marine engineering. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing naval architecture support in the development of various vessels, including:

- Steel and aluminum recreational vessels
- Commercial ship designs
- U.S. Government crafts ranging from 20 to 250 feet in length


Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct precise and detailed engineering calculations using fundamental principles and innovative approaches to overcome challenges.
- Collaborate with Project Managers in the design process, offering solutions through established design skills and company protocols.
- Ensure adherence to existing Engineering Standards and Procedures, working alongside other engineering professionals to enhance product quality and efficiency.
- Document work solutions and challenges clearly, collaborating with engineers to devise effective solutions.
- Complete engineering assignments accurately and punctually, utilizing standard engineering software.

Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory, and candidates must be eligible for security clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 0-2 years of relevant technical engineering experience in Naval Architecture.
- Comprehensive knowledge of marine engineering principles and practices.
- Familiarity with specifications and regulatory requirements (BS/RINA/LR/ISO/USCG/ABYC).
- Experience in developing calculations and drawings for Class and Flag review and approval.
- Strong organizational and time management skills as an independent contributor.
- Proven ability to solve technical problems using fundamental principles and innovative methods.
- Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software, including AutoCAD and Rhino.
- Experience in developing technical scopes of supply and collaborating with vendors.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Engineer in Training Credential (successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam).
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).
- Experience in shipyard or boatyard environments.
