Position Overview
The Accounting Specialist for Financial Reporting is a Hybrid position, combining in-office collaboration with remote work flexibility.
Key responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of financial documents for regulatory compliance, specifically with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This role is situated within the SEC Reporting team of the Corporate Controller's Group, focusing on the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements while ensuring adherence to internal controls and documentation standards. Regular interaction with various corporate functions, legal entities, business units, and external auditors is an integral part of this role.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the preparation and submission of financial reports to the SEC, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K.
- Assisting in the development and review of quarterly earnings announcements and related documentation.
- Meticulously preparing financial statements and disclosures, supported by organized documentation and detailed financial analyses.
- Reviewing financial data from various departments for inclusion in SEC submissions.
- Conducting research on accounting and reporting issues, analyzing their implications for financial statements.
- Contributing to the review process of external financial reports by the finance team, senior management, and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries promptly.
- Maintaining a strong internal control framework.
- Engaging in special projects, research, and analyses as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, along with 3-5+ years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Experience in preparing financial statements and disclosures, along with research in accounting literature, is advantageous.
- CPA certification (or candidate status) with experience in SEC reporting, ideally within a public company or public accounting firm, is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential.
- Familiarity with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and SmartView is beneficial.
