Job Summary:
Kualoa Ranch Hawai'i is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead our Education Programs department. As an Education Programs Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging and interactive educational experiences for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver age/grade level appropriate tours and activities that combine Kualoa's ranch history, Hawaiian culture, and language with ʻāina place-based education.
- Plan and create lessons that support our program curriculum, ensuring alignment with educational standards and best practices.
- Assist with research and evaluation of program curriculum to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
- Maintain and upkeep of campus facilities, including landscape work, loʻi (taro patch) work, ʻāina restoration, and animal husbandry.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement educational programs that meet the needs of our guests.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of and ability to teach topics related to Hawaiian culture and language, sustainability, and environmental awareness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of experience working with children or adults in an educational setting preferred.
- Experience in group facilitation, curriculum development, lesson planning, and team building with various age groups is highly desirable.
- Ability to meet the demands of caring for animals, conducting landscape maintenance, hiking, farming, canoe paddling, and other outdoor activities.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
