We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our Cardiac Tele unit at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing team.
Key Responsibilities- Perform basic patient care activities, including vital sign monitoring, blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, and eating.
- Report any abnormal findings or changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized patient environment.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently, even in high-pressure situations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic life support certification (BLS) and CPR training.
- Ability to work a full-time schedule, including nights and weekends.
