Key Responsibilities:

Intern Duties:
Interns will leverage their educational background and experience to perform various accounting-related tasks, including:

  • Timely and professionally responding to requests from clients and firm associates
  • Collaborating with clients to gather necessary information for completing required documentation
  • Utilizing data analysis skills to uncover valuable insights and patterns to support recommendations
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements to enhance operational efficiency

Tax Responsibilities:

  • Preparing individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns and projections in line with firm and professional standards as directed by engagement leaders
  • Effectively utilizing current tax and accounting software applications
  • Conducting research on tax-related issues and other financial reports
  • Performing a limited number of tax return interviews as necessary

Audit Responsibilities:

  • Executing audit, review, and compliance testing procedures in accordance with firm and professional standards as directed by engagement leaders
  • Communicating with engagement leaders regarding open items, testing challenges, or other significant matters promptly
  • Preparing (or reviewing client-prepared) financial statements and footnotes, management reports, and other engagement outputs
  • Developing technical proficiency with GAAP, particularly related to the assigned product line

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting (completion of corporate or individual taxation coursework is required)
  • Demonstrating above-average competency in accounting as evidenced by college GPA; Minimum 3.2 GPA
  • Working towards eligibility to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation (150 credits)
  • Preferred coursework in Data Analytics or Big Data
  • Ability to think independently and make sound decisions based on education and experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and staff
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks, follow through on requests, take initiative, and meet deadlines
