About the Role:

The Senior Linux Systems Administrator will be an integral part of the Test Site Engineering team located in Moorestown, NJ. This role focuses on troubleshooting end-user computing issues while optimizing performance across various platforms, particularly Linux RedHat and RedHawk.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and uninstall hardware and software, including both commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom applications.
  • Manage configuration, automate builds, and oversee release engineering processes.
  • Identify and isolate faults in systems.
  • Conduct volume backups, monitor systems, and perform necessary clean-up tasks.
  • Provide user support and maintain knowledge of network interfaces.

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • Proficiency in scripting with at least one administrative language.
  • Experience in supporting Linux users within a Local Area Network (LAN), including expertise in configuration management and build automation.
  • Familiarity with Rational ClearCase tools for software configuration management.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • A detail-oriented mindset capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of system administration, including user account management, security patching, and auditing.
  • Understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance and DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Active Security+ certification is required.
  • A willingness to deepen knowledge in both Windows and Linux environments.

Basic Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of six years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience with configuration and change management tools such as Git and ClearCase.
  • Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and the ability to resolve end-user computing issues independently.
  • Eligibility to obtain Security+ certification and maintain a security clearance at the SECRET level, requiring U.S. citizenship.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Rational ClearCase tools for software configuration management.
  • Knowledge of data communications and networking principles.
  • Proficiency in both Linux and Microsoft Windows administration.
  • Experience with Linux RedHat and RedHawk operating systems, as well as computer networking.
  • Ability to create bash and Perl scripts for environment management within ClearCase.
  • Familiarity with Agile processes and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Security Clearance Requirement:

This position necessitates a government security clearance; therefore, U.S. citizenship is required for consideration.


Work Environment:

This role is performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility, supporting a full-time schedule with potential for flexible work arrangements.
