Job Summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate I to join our team in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Dell Medical School. As a Research Associate I, you will provide research assistance and support for research projects in the Department of Psychiatry at UT Austin, working as part of a team of faculty, staff, graduate students, and undergraduate assistants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review medical records and conduct screenings for study recruitment.
  • Execute data collection procedures and assist with subject recruitment.
  • Assist with clinical trial administrative tasks, including keeping up with inbox, medical records, recruitment, and calls.
  • Help with subject management, scheduling, and reimbursement.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, or technical field.
  • Basic engineering and/or scientific equipment ordinarily used in college laboratory work.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (written and verbal) and interact skillfully with investigators, staff, and researchers.
  • Ability to work both as a team member and independently without continuous supervision.
  • Ability to work with overlapping projects and with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and deadline-driven, customer service-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with projects involving human subject research.
  • Experience with REDCap.
Working Conditions
  • May work around chemical fumes.
  • May work around standard office conditions.
  • May work around biohazards.
  • May work around chemicals.
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
  • Climbing of stairs.
  • Climbing of ladders.
  • Lifting and moving.
  • Occasional weekend, overtime, and evening work to meet deadlines.
