Logistics Associate

Turner Industries is seeking skilled Warehouse workers for opportunities in the Geismar, LA region.

• NO PER DIEM, IDEAL FOR LOCAL CANDIDATES
• Must possess a Valid Driver's License
• Experience with SAP is advantageous
• Capability to obtain forklift certification, lift 40lbs, and participate in call-out rotation
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members

General Responsibilities:

Responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products.

Key Duties:

Handle the storage, removal, loading, and unloading of various materials from storage bins, pallets, and vehicles that require manual handling; operate manual or mechanical devices and organize inventory shelves; interpret production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to ascertain items to be moved, gathered, or distributed; categorize and position materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to established sequences such as size, type, style, or color; transport materials and supplies from the warehouse and prepare them for delivery; fulfill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or stock items; document material items received or distributed; may maintain inventory records; perform routine housekeeping tasks to uphold work area cleanliness; undertake additional assignments as necessary.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Some locations may necessitate forklift certification
• Successful completion of a post-offer drug screening and acceptance of the Turner Industries Group, LLC. Drug, Alcohol, and Contraband Policy
• Applicants/employees must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Physical Requirements:

May involve activities such as climbing ladders, scaffolds, and structures; maintaining balance on ladders and scaffolds; reaching in all directions; handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating eye, hand, and finger movements to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from various levels; carrying objects, tools, and equipment; standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, crouching/squatting; visual and auditory capabilities with or without correction; wearing respirators and other personal protective equipment; typing/data entry; utilizing stepstools; working in extreme temperatures; and operating in loud environments.

Mental Requirements:

May require adherence to established procedures and standards; following oral and written instructions; knowledge of federal, state, and company regulations; reading and writing proficiency; recognizing and reporting safety hazards; interpreting written plans and blueprints; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work and selecting appropriate tools; comparing and understanding differences in size, shape, and form; visualizing and evaluating solid objects from drawings or diagrams; effective communication with others; teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to learn new tasks; maintaining focus and completing tasks; remaining calm under pressure; managing time and expectations across multiple projects; ensuring consistent work in compliance with directives.

Work Environment:

• Location: Industrial construction sites and/or equipment yards
• Mobility Barriers: Uneven ground levels; obstructed pathways
• Environmental Conditions: Primarily outdoor climate; potential exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, rain, and various noise levels from tools and machinery; possible exposure to chemical substances.
