This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of psychosocial functioning and the ability to work effectively with patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Therapeutic Programming
    • Develop and implement experiential therapeutic programming for patients and residents
    • Plan and coordinate programming to meet the needs of patients and residents
  • Facilitate Group Sessions
    • Facilitate group sessions for patients and residents
    • Use a variety of experiential therapies to promote positive outcomes
  • Collaborate with Staff
    • Collaborate with staff to develop and implement treatment plans
    • Provide leadership and role-modeling to staff
  • Document Patient Progress
    • Document patient progress and treatment plans
    • Use a variety of documentation tools to track patient progress
  • Participate in Quality Improvement Initiatives
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes
    • Use data to inform treatment decisions
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. recreation, art, music, dance, psychodrama)
    • Master's degree or certification in a related field (e.g. R-DMT, ATR, CTRS, MTBC, SAC-IT, TIC, Yoga, LPC)
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in group facilitation in a behavioral health setting
    • Mentorship experience with ET staff preferred
  • Certifications
    • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification
    • Formal training in management of the aggressive patient
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires working in a fast-paced environment. The Experiential Therapist I will be required to work with patients and staff in a variety of settings, including group sessions and one-on-one therapy sessions. The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
