Job Overview

Position: Multi-Axis CNC Technician Level 3

Industry: Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing

Incentives: Eligible for a Quarterly Shop Bonus Plan, with potential earnings of up to $300 per quarter.

Shift Availability: Options include Day Shift, Night Shift, or Weekend Shift (with a $1,000 new hire bonus for Night and Weekend shifts, payable after completing the first 1,000 hours worked).

As a requirement for this role, candidates must possess U.S. citizenship or valid Permanent Resident status due to the nature of work performed within our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate 5-Axis multi-pallet machining centers.
  • Manage automated multi-axis mill-turn machines.
  • Experience with Fanuc and Mazak controls is preferred.
  • Independently operate CNC machines for established production and New Product Introduction (NPI) jobs.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot all jobs running in the department.
  • Setup jobs, including NPI, demonstrating effective techniques for loading, indicating, and touching off all tooling.
  • Load programs and verify their correct operation, including revisions and necessary fixtures.
  • Adjust speeds and feeds, implementing process improvements to enhance quality and reduce cycle times.
  • Mentor and train process operators on operational procedures and quality standards.
  • Conduct daily machine maintenance, including fluid level checks and chip removal.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of CNC controls, including G & M program codes.
  • Manage tooling, entering offsets to account for wear and replacing worn or damaged tools.
  • Interpret and understand blueprints, including assemblies, dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T standards.
  • Utilize basic inspection and measuring equipment to verify machined dimensions.
  • Perform in-process inspections and document data as required.
  • Complete necessary documentation for job routing and part counts.
  • Report discrepancies and notify lead personnel as needed.
  • Communicate job-related issues or questions to lead personnel for resolution.
  • Report machine collisions and malfunctions promptly.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and protocols, understanding industry buy-off requirements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Programmers to validate new CNC programs during initial runs.
  • Possess knowledge of advanced tooling and workholding techniques.
  • Experience with automation, gantry loaders, or robotics is advantageous.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of materials and cutting conditions.
Qualifications:
  • Proficient in using computer software and company ERP systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience operating CNC lathes.
  • Thorough understanding of G & M codes for Fanuc-based programming.
  • Good knowledge of GD&T and industry inspection standards.
  • Ability to stand for the majority of the work shift.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent trade school certification.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly.
  • Capacity to stand for the majority of the shift.
