Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Inpatient Pediatric Nursing Specialist who thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment.

In this role, you will deliver comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients by assessing, planning, educating, implementing, and evaluating care tailored to the developmental needs of children and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts thorough assessments of patients and their families, addressing biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, spiritual, and environmental factors in a systematic manner.
  • Creates a personalized care plan based on nursing assessments that reflect the unique needs of each patient and family, ensuring it is initiated and documented within 24 hours of admission.
  • Implements therapeutic interventions in accordance with established standards of practice and relevant policies to ensure effective care delivery.
  • Monitors and records changes in patients' conditions, identifying abnormal findings and employing appropriate problem-solving strategies.
  • Recognizes potential barriers to learning and utilizes effective teaching methods tailored to the patient and family's learning capabilities.
  • Maintains open communication with the healthcare team to facilitate timely diagnostic evaluations and optimize patient flow from admission to discharge.
  • Demonstrates strong delegation and prioritization skills in managing patient care and therapeutic interventions.
Qualifications

All employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless a medical or religious exemption is approved.

  • Bachelor's degree or an associate's degree in a nursing-related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing, or currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working towards an MSN is required.
  • Current RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse Licensure Compact is mandatory.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
  • A minimum of one year of professional nursing experience is necessary.
  • Experience in Pediatrics, Pulmonary, or Endocrine nursing is preferred.
