CNC Machinist

A CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the production of components. Upon part completion, a CNC Lathe Set-up Operator will check with precision measuring tools to ensure it meets all specifications, making any adjustments as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities- Program, set up, run and monitor CNC machines used to make metal parts.
- Perform startups, shutdowns, and material loading.
- Adjust speeds and feeds
- Analyze blueprints to determine proper dimensions and configurations.
- Perform all work following quality standards of both TCP and customers. Perform quality checks on in-process parts before and after operation to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Work at a pace that allows production schedules to be met
- Perform general machine maintenance as required
- Perform other necessary duties when the machine isn't running or has a long run time
- Prioritize work through effective communication with colleagues and management staff.
- Perform all work following safety procedures of both TCP and customer. Wearing safety clothing and using personal protective equipment.
- Engage with our lean culture. Participate in lean training and events

- Adhere to our company's cultural principles
- Functional knowledge of CNC controls, ability to adjust tool offsets
- Ability to identify tooling like face mills, endmills, index drills, reamers, etc.
- Functional knowledge of cutter selection, speeds, feeds, chip load.
- Ability to inspect your own parts with basic metrology equipment.
- Functional knowledge of OD mics, calipers, depth mics, dial bore gages, bore mics, snap ring gages, telescope gages, thread plugs, gage pins, height stand, etc.
- Functional knowledge of blueprint reading
- Working knowledge of tool and work offset adjustment
- Good time management skills
- Basic math skill
- Able to use digitized information
- Experience working with teams. Strong team player with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
- Conflict resolution skills include active listening, seeking understanding, team-building skills, emotional intelligence, and frequent effective communication
