Job DescriptionThe machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes in a job shop environment. Responsibilities include setting up tooling, adjusting speeds and feeds, program edits, offsets, changeovers, and fixtures. The machinist will run the first piece and perform first-piece inspections on parts, measure parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and zolars, and operate machines including mills, lathes, and mill-turn from 3-axis to 5-axis machines. Candidates will be cross-trained on a variety of machinery. Additional duties include reading G&M Codes and making necessary machine edits, reading blueprints, and checking parts according to blueprints. Run times will vary, and this is a job shop environment, not production-based, so the machinist will be doing something new every day.
Hard Skills- 4+ years of CNC Machining experience on Multi-Axis CNC Machines (5-axis preferred)
- Program edits utilizing G&M codes
- Performing live tool changes and offsets
- Quality inspection
