Position Summary and Qualifications

The Emergency Room Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and overseeing all operational functions within the unit during assigned shifts.

Working collaboratively with the management team, the CNL directs, assesses, and evaluates nursing care in alignment with established policies and procedures, serving as a resource for staff while embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and maintain high standards of care.

- Engage in continuous evaluation of the quality of care delivered in the unit, collaborating with management to ensure excellence.

- Foster teamwork by collaborating with subject matter experts and other managers to enhance outcomes and service delivery.

- Uphold a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.

- Support initiatives aimed at improving staff engagement through operational nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly checks.

- Provide input on the recruitment, selection, and training of new personnel.

- Recommend and implement actions related to training, conflict resolution, compliance with personnel policies, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure organizational effectiveness.

- Assist with staff scheduling and manage labor resources in accordance with patient care needs and productivity standards.
- Ensure proper inventory management and assist in overseeing supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 4 months of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course certification must be obtained within 4 months of employment start date.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification must be obtained within 4 months of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification must be obtained within 4 months of employment start date.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course certification must be obtained within 4 months of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse with an Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree.
