Position Title: Fire Service Technician III / Sprinkler Service Technician III
Employment Type: Temp to Hire
Available Locations: Various locations
Contract Duration: 6 months (Temp to hire position)
Work Schedule: 1st Shift - 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
Compensation: $30 to $33 per hour on W2 (Negotiable)
Job Responsibilities:
- Respond to service requests from the Service Resource Center, including a brief overview of equipment/system issues.
- Engage with customer representatives to identify equipment/system challenges.
- Conduct maintenance and repairs on sprinkler systems across commercial, industrial, and residential sectors.
- Work with various systems including wet (steel, copper, and CPVC), dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps.
Qualifications:
- Experience in the Fire Sprinkler/Suppression industry.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Willingness to travel is essential.
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 50-70 lbs.
- Able to work in various positions, including climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
- Flexibility to work weekends as needed to meet customer demands.
- Participation in an on-call rotation schedule is required, with overnight travel.
- Exhibit a high level of customer service and maintain truck inventory for timely responses.
- Adhere to and implement safety guidelines and procedures consistently.
- Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and a quick learning ability are essential.
- Possess a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company standards.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
Additional Requirements:
- Licenses: Ideally, candidates should hold NICET 2 and a State license in Sprinkler.
- Inspection experience is preferred, with approximately 65% of time spent on-site inspections.
- Experience with commercial fire sprinkler alarm systems is desired.
- Backflow Inspection State License is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Fire Sprinkler systems is required.
- Consideration may be given to candidates without licenses if they meet the minimum experience criteria.
- Expect to drive more than 50 miles daily, with a centrally located office.
- Daily commutes may involve driving approximately 45 minutes to site locations.
- Employees will be required to operate a vehicle, with mileage reimbursed.
