Opportunity Overview

Job Summary:

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Designated Institutional Officer to oversee our residency programs in the Central West Texas Division in Austin, Texas. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead our Graduate Medical Education programs, which consist of 2 ACGME-accredited programs, Ob/Gyn and General Surgery. With plans for expansion, including a new Internal Medicine program in 2025, this leadership position offers a unique blend of clinical and administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the administration of ACGME-accredited programs and ensure compliance with ACGME Institutional, Common, and specialty/subspecialty-specific Program Requirements.
  • Work closely with program faculty to identify areas needing attention and determine additional resources or efforts required to maintain full compliance.
  • Collaborate with Division VP of GME and other leaders to improve educational quality and create a positive culture for residents and fellows.
  • Monitor changes in ACGME accreditation standards and disseminate information to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Medical Doctor (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), or other Doctorate-level degree.
  • Prior experience as a DIO, program director, or significant GME administrative role is highly preferred.
  • Experience in undergraduate medical education administration or other healthcare industry administration may be considered.
