Job Summary

SanStone Health & Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department in North Carolina. As a traveling DON, you will have the opportunity to utilize your leadership and clinical expertise to oversee the nursing department and ensure resident needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Clinical Expertise: Oversee the nursing department and ensure resident needs are met by coordinating resident care, managing clinical systems, and providing supervision to clinical team members.
  • Clinical Resource Management: Manage clinical resources effectively and efficiently to attain and maintain the highest level of care to residents in accordance with nursing and regulatory standards.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Develop and evaluate resident care goals and policies in partnership with the clinical care team and administrator, and participate in leadership team meetings to contribute to decision-making and company-wide initiatives.
  • Documentation and Confidentiality: Oversee the documentation and communication of resident care and services, and maintain confidentiality and protect resident information according to state and federal regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing, with a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years working in geriatric nursing, including experience with medication administration, delivery systems, and pharmacies. At least 2 years in supervisory/management position, including experience with budgets, staff development, training, and scheduling.
  • Skills: Effective communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, technology skills, empathy, and patience. Ability to respond quickly and calmly in emergencies, and maintain confidentiality and protect resident information according to state and federal regulations.
