Position OverviewAs the VP of Talent, you will be responsible for shaping and executing our comprehensive talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies. You will collaborate closely with our executive team to ensure that we attract and retain world-class talent across technical, operational, and leadership roles. This position requires an experienced leader with a strong background in recruitment and talent management, particularly in high-growth tech startups.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a strategic talent plan that aligns with our growth objectives as we move toward our IPO.
- Lead and manage the full-cycle recruitment process, focusing on building a diverse, high-performing team across technical, product, and leadership roles.
- Collaborate with executives to identify key talent needs and ensure effective workforce planning.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier candidates and develop pipelines for critical roles.
- Oversee employee development programs, including onboarding, training, and career progression.
- Lead initiatives to foster a strong, inclusive company culture and promote employee engagement and retention.
- Advise on and manage compensation strategies, including equity distribution, to remain competitive in the market.
- Serve as a key advisor on all people-related matters, including organizational development, performance management, and succession planning.
- 10+ years of experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, or HR, with a focus on high-growth tech companies, ideally within AI or cutting-edge technology sectors.
- Proven track record of leading talent strategies in pre-IPO or rapidly scaling startups.
- Deep understanding of the AI/tech landscape and an ability to attract top-tier engineering and leadership talent.
- Strong experience in managing executive-level recruitment and high-stakes talent negotiations.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to recruitment and talent management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in developing and executing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
- Familiarity with equity-based compensation models and the intricacies of pre-IPO startup environments.
- Experience working with startups affiliated with or born from top-tier academic institutions like Stanford.
- Knowledge of the AI/ML sector and experience with recruiting specialized roles in those areas.
- Experience scaling teams in a global, remote-first company environment.
