Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our fleet vehicles through thorough preventive maintenance inspections, expert diagnosis, and quality repairs. Your expertise will minimize breakdowns, reduce downtime, and enhance overall fleet performance.
Responsibilities- Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance to uphold safety and reliability standards for all company vehicles.
- Conduct mandatory annual inspections on all company vehicles in accordance with regulations.
- Execute preventive maintenance inspections on all fleet vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
- Carry out necessary repairs on fleet vehicles to maintain safety and reliability standards, addressing any issues promptly and efficiently.
- Address driver vehicle inspection reports effectively, resolving reported concerns and preventing future occurrences.
- Diagnose and repair vehicle malfunctions to manufacturer specifications, utilizing your technical expertise to identify and rectify problems accurately.
- Document all work accurately and thoroughly, maintaining detailed records of repairs and maintenance performed.
- Utilize Sysco computer programs efficiently for record-keeping, scheduling, and communication purposes.
- Proficiently utilize electrical meter testing equipment to diagnose and resolve electrical system issues.
- Conduct electrical repairs and welding projects as needed, demonstrating your versatility in handling various repair tasks.
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual with a passion for diesel mechanics. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Technical training and experience in fleet maintenance, demonstrating your hands-on expertise.
- A valid driver's license, allowing you to operate company vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Preferred certifications such as Annual Inspector Certification, Brake Inspector Certification, ASE certifications, and 609 HVAC Certification, showcasing your commitment to professional development.
- Proficiency in diagnostic software for vehicle systems, enabling you to effectively troubleshoot and repair complex issues.
- Ability to provide your own tools for maintenance and repairs, ensuring you have the necessary equipment to perform your duties effectively.
- Expertise in vehicle systems and components, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of how vehicles operate.
- Knowledge in electrical systems diagnosis and repair, allowing you to address electrical issues accurately and efficiently.
- Proficiency in welding, expanding your skillset and enabling you to handle various repair tasks.
- Basic computer skills for utilizing company software and documentation systems.
- Familiarity with DOT and OSHA regulations, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
This role requires regular sitting, standing, walking, and the use of hands and fingers. You may occasionally need to lift and move up to 100 lbs.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment may involve exposure to various environmental conditions. This position may require non-traditional working hours and occasional travel to other locations.
