Reporting to the Food Service Supervisor and receiving guidance from the Lead Food Service Associate, this position ensures that all food service operations meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and organize the designated service area prior to meal times to enhance operational efficiency. (20%)
  • Assist in the retrieval of patient meal trays, ensuring a hygienic and timely service. (15%)
  • Maintain inventory levels in accordance with established par levels and accurately document usage.
  • Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation protocols, following established guidelines for food handling. (10%)
  • Ensure all meals are prepared according to standardized recipes, providing safe, nutritious, and appealing food options while adhering to budgetary constraints. (10%)
  • Follow current CDC hand hygiene practices to promote health and safety.
  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages and snacks, including coffee, teas, and baked goods.
  • Properly store and label leftover food items for future use, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. (5%)
  • Package and date hot food items for patient service, adhering to established guidelines.
  • Be adaptable to various roles within the department, including tray line operations, storeroom duties, and food preparation tasks.
  • Support the cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen equipment and work areas in line with departmental standards.
  • Conduct daily and special cleaning tasks to maintain a hygienic environment.

Qualifications:
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Preferred experience of 6+ months in a food service environment, though not mandatory.

Employment Conditions:
Covid Vaccination is mandatory for employment within clinical settings at Jefferson. Candidates not currently vaccinated must receive the vaccination prior to their start date unless an approved medical or religious exemption is provided.
