Position Overview:

The Sparrow Health System is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in Neurosurgery to join our esteemed medical team.


Role Summary:

The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver comprehensive medical services and technical support for patients under the care of the Neurosurgery department.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate patient admissions to appropriate care facilities, including transfers between hospitals.
  • Conduct and document patient evaluations, including History & Physicals, Consultations, and Discharge Summaries.
  • Manage outpatient referrals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Review diagnostic imaging and laboratory results to inform patient management.
  • Perform daily patient rounds and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Respond to surgical emergencies as needed.
  • Perform essential diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including resuscitation efforts.
  • Oversee outpatient care, including prescription management and follow-up appointments.
  • Assist in surgical procedures, ensuring optimal patient positioning and safety.
  • Engage in patient education throughout the care continuum, from admission to discharge.
  • Participate in preoperative assessments and postoperative care planning.
  • Provide leadership in both inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring high-quality patient care.

Qualifications:

Experience:
- Prior experience in a hospital setting, particularly in surgical rotations and neurosurgery, is preferred.

Education:
- Graduate of an accredited PA/NP program.
- Valid Michigan PA/NP license.
- BCLS and ACLS certifications.


Work Environment:

This position involves a combination of clinical and surgical responsibilities, with some on-call duties required. The APP will work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
