Position Overview
As a key member of the Department of Commerce, this role encompasses the responsibilities of Program Manager and Chief of Staff for the Chief Facility Management Officer (CFMO).

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage special initiatives and programs, providing policy guidance and facilitating strategic collaborations within the Office of Facilities and Property Management (OFPM) and its stakeholders.
  • Formulate and implement strategies to execute and assess performance on prominent projects and programs, including but not limited to laboratory gas management, logistics, construction, and repair services under the CFMO's purview.
  • Effectively execute strategies related to facility services, ensuring timely repairs and construction at designated facilities.
  • Lead and coordinate communication efforts for the CFMO, ensuring effective dissemination of information within OFPM and to external stakeholders.
Employment Conditions
U.S. citizenship is required. Males born after must be registered for Selective Service. Candidates must be suitable for Federal employment and meet any applicable time-in-grade/band requirements. Completion of the Confidential Financial Disclosure, Form OGE-450, is mandatory.

Qualifications
This position necessitates at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 (ZA-IV) level. Specialized experience is defined as overseeing facility services that include at least three of the following: facility service contracts, transportation, repairs and construction, and shipping/receiving for both internal and external clients, particularly in organizations with multiple locations or campus environments.

Experience includes both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer activities. All qualifying volunteer experience will be credited in your application. The qualification requirements are based on the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook.
