Product Development Director

Talcott Financial Group is a leading international life insurance group, renowned for its comprehensive risk solutions. As a Product Development Director, you will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the actuarial functions related to annuity pricing and product development.

The role will be based in Hartford, Charlotte, or a hybrid/remote setup, with opportunities for travel. Your primary focus will be on designing, pricing, and launching new annuity products (FIA, MYGA, and FA) and riders (GMWB). You will also oversee end-to-end actuarial product development and pricing annuity liabilities, building pricing/underwriting models for annuities and asset-intensive reinsurance products.

Estimated salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and price new annuity products (FIA, MYGA, and FA) and riders (GMWB)
- Oversee end-to-end actuarial product development and pricing annuity liabilities
- Build pricing/underwriting models for annuities and asset-intensive reinsurance products
- Establish a pricing framework for presenting pricing metrics across products
- Collaborate with Corporate Development to develop new annuity product ideas and manage product mix

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or related field
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA)
- Minimum 10 years work experience in insurance or finance, with expertise in pricing, product development, and modeling
- Deep knowledge of Fixed Indexed Annuity strongly preferred
- Strong technical skills and attention to detail for reviewing model results and improving processes
