Work Schedule:
1st shift, Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm (with flexibility for start times between 5:00am-9:00am).


Key Responsibilities:


- Conduct thorough screening and assessment of gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens submitted for analysis to identify potential malignant or abnormal conditions.
- Perform screening of liquid-based cytology, including both manual and imaged techniques, as well as conventional slides.
- Execute microscopic evaluations of cytological specimens in accordance with established laboratory protocols and workload policies.
- Ensure meticulous documentation of workload, including both screening and non-screening activities, in compliance with CLIA and laboratory standards.
- Uphold the highest standards of integrity in the accurate performance and reporting of results.
- Meet established slide screening criteria as outlined in standard operating procedures.
- Accurately finalize testing results in the laboratory information system in a timely manner.
- Provide support for cytology processing and other related tasks as necessary.
- Adhere to all safety, infection control, and HIPAA regulations.


Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or a related life science field.
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Successful completion of an accredited Cytology program.
- ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) Certification is mandatory.
- Previous experience in Cytology is preferred.
- ThinPrep certification is advantageous.
- Must successfully meet slide screening requirements and annual CAP proficiency testing.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cytological preparation techniques.
- Experience with both automated and non-automated testing is preferred.
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) is essential.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team setting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Must pass a standardized color vision screening.
