Position Summary:

We are in search of a Senior Manager of Construction Operations who will oversee the comprehensive construction activities related to project design, procurement, and execution, ensuring adherence to cost, schedule, and quality standards.

This position will manage all facets of client projects, supervising project managers and related roles, including site management, design teams, contract administration, and construction accounting, to guarantee successful project delivery and fulfillment of client expectations. The individual will also coordinate team resource requirements with management.

Location:

This is a remote opportunity for candidates located in specified states.

Travel Requirements:

Travel is expected to be around 75%.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage client relationships, ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Enhance existing client accounts, maintain sales objectives, identify future opportunities, and collaborate with relevant sales team members to expand service offerings.
  • Ensure clients are well-informed about processes, deliverable expectations, and necessary decisions throughout the project.
  • Supervise senior project teams to meet client expectations for deliverables and communication.
  • Maintain consistency in deliverables to adhere to the Standard of Care.
  • Provide leadership to clients and teams, facilitating project programming, design, budgeting, and scheduling meetings, including follow-ups on proposed or actual changes.
  • Act as a point of escalation for customer-related issues, implementing effective corrective measures.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations for all team members.
  • Organize and lead regular project team meetings to review design, documentation, and construction progress.
  • Conduct and publish regular status meetings with project owners.
  • Plan, organize, and staff key project positions, ensuring adequate training for team members.
  • Oversee project budgets and ensure forecasts accurately reflect project costs.
  • Lead the review of unique execution strategies and decision-making processes, facilitating problem-solving to reach conclusions.
  • Direct client interface and OAC meetings, including project reporting, meeting minutes, action items, and associated logs.
  • Prepare scopes of work, schedule requirements, subcontract values, and review exclusions and special requirements for all subcontracts and change orders.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 10 years of field experience with prior project management and construction roles.
  • 8 years of direct management experience with employees and subcontractors.
  • Proven experience in leading teams through conflict resolution, motivation, and teamwork.
  • Demonstrated expertise in all aspects of project management.
  • In-depth understanding of construction techniques, including HVAC, electrical systems, low voltage systems, energy management controls, fire/life safety systems, plumbing, framing, and environmental issues.
  • Advanced knowledge of cost estimating and quantity surveying.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction equipment, techniques, drawings, specifications, building materials, codes, and contract management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project Scheduling and analytical problem-solving.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat/Reader, with Timberline experience being a plus.
