Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Superintendent to lead our ground-up school construction projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing all aspects of school construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Oversight
  • Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities for ground-up school projects.
  • Ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, suppliers, and site staff to ensure efficient workflow and project progress.
  • Project Coordination
  • Work closely with project managers to develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ensure all project milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Facilitate effective communication between the project management team, subcontractors, and on-site personnel.
  • Quality Control
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure high standards of workmanship in school construction projects.
  • Review and approve work performed by subcontractors and site staff.
  • Address any issues or deficiencies promptly to maintain project quality.
  • Safety Management
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for site staff and subcontractors.
  • Investigate and report any safety incidents or accidents.
  • Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and inspection records.
  • Report project status, issues, and progress to the project management team and senior management.
  • Assist in the preparation of project closeout documents and punch lists.
  • Leadership and Team Management
  • Provide leadership and direction to on-site construction teams.
  • Mentor and develop junior superintendents and site staff.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Make informed decisions to resolve conflicts and challenges.
  • Implement innovative solutions to enhance project outcomes.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a construction superintendent, with a focus on ground-up school projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction processes, methods, and best practices for school construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, PlanGrid).
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
