**Clinical Genetics Opportunity at VCU Health - MCV Physicians**

The Department of Human and Molecular Genetics at VCU Health - MCV Physicians seeks a full-time Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, non-tenure track, in the Division of Clinical Genetics, with primary duties as a Clinical Geneticist.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • **Clinical Work**: Participate as a clinician in various clinics and other settings, including telemedicine, and share call and consultative responsibilities with other Clinical Genetics physicians.
  • **Service**: Participate in tumor boards and other conferences with clinical colleagues, and contribute to departmental, institutional, and national committees as needed.
  • **Teaching**: Contribute to the education of residents, medical students, Genetic Counseling graduate students, and ancillary staff.
  • **Research**: Engage in scholarship through presentations at national meetings, contributions to peer-reviewed scientific literature, and active participation in appropriate professional organizations.

The successful candidate will report to and work closely with the Chief of Clinical Genetics Services to further the mission and vision of the Department of Human & Molecular Genetics.

**Requirements**

Prospective candidates should be American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG) board eligible/certified. The applicant must exhibit dynamic and innovative clinical and teaching skills, including in teaching and training of graduate students. The position requires demonstrated clinical and teaching experience, working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU. Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with qualification and experience.

  • MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree with Board eligibility/certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG).
  • Candidates must be qualified for full, unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia.
  • The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU is required.

**Preferred Qualifications**

Expertise in Clinical Genetics, particularly with experience in Metabolics and/or Adult Genetics.

Preference will be given to candidates with clinical experience and an interest and/or ability in research and scholarly activity as displayed through publication in professional journals and presentations at national meetings.
