Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Utility Service Technician to join our team at Tempo Employment Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of local water distribution and wastewater collection systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, repair, and install water mains, valves, fittings, and meters.
  • Perform routine maintenance on fixtures connected to local water and wastewater systems.
  • Excavate areas to repair, replace, or install equipment related to the distribution system.
  • Operate and maintain motor vehicles to transport workers, tools, equipment, and supplies to job sites.
  • Repair and maintain water valves and fire hydrants.
  • Assist in locating water valves and utility lines for maintenance.
  • Install and exchange water meters.
  • Organize materials for upcoming repair projects.
  • Assist with job site cleanup after maintenance and repairs are completed.
  • Keep accurate and organized records.
  • Assist and support other departments/divisions as needed.
  • Be on-call to respond to off-hour emergencies every other weekend.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Valid Class B driver's license or ability to attain Class B license after hire.
  • Previous utility, maintenance, or construction experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to move/lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Criminal background check, drug test, and fitness test required.
