Job Summary

Aroostook Home Health Services is seeking a skilled professional to provide speech therapy services to clients in their homes. The ideal candidate will be a qualified speech pathologist/audiologist with a master's degree and at least one year of supervised work experience.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Evaluate client speech and language abilities, identifying defects and assets, and perform periodic re-evaluations.
  2. Develop and implement rehabilitative services for speech and language disorders.
  3. Record treatment and client reactions on clinical/progress notes, which are written on the day of the visit and incorporated in the client's record weekly.
  4. Maintain accurate records on all clients, including summary reports.
  5. Utilize community resources and Agency personnel by proper referral.
  6. Select and administer diagnostic and therapeutic techniques and materials.
  7. Instruct and counsel other health team personnel and family members in methods of assisting clients in improving, correcting, and accepting their disabilities.
  8. Attend paramedical service meetings and combined paramedical and nursing service meetings.
  9. Participate in staff development activities and in-service education.
  10. Participate in the development of and periodic revision of the physician's plan of treatment.
  11. Communicate effectively with all those providing care.
  12. Confirm, on a weekly basis, the scheduling of visits with the Clinical Coordinator to coordinate necessary visits with other personnel.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association and certified by the Association. A master's degree and at least one year of supervised work experience are required. Licensed or registered by the state, with a preference for at least one year of institutional experience. Must be able to travel to prospective clients' residences and have a car with required insurance coverage and a State driver's license. Must be able to hear and speak in a manner understood by most people.

Other Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will assume other responsibilities deemed necessary and in the best interest of the organization as requested by the Clinical Coordinator or Executive Director.
