Role Summary
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Partnerships and Development, the Business & Community Relations Supervisor will be instrumental in connecting our organization with the local community and business sectors, facilitating effective communication and collaboration. This role entails overseeing the Business & Community Relations team, maintaining comprehensive knowledge of all workforce partnership initiatives, cultivating strategic alliances with community organizations and local enterprises, and implementing targeted outreach and recruitment strategies to boost program engagement and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert in SDWP's employer-focused workforce development solutions, including workforce recruitment support, training services for new hires and current employees, and layoff aversion services.
- Ensure a thorough understanding of all Workforce Partnership programs, aligning departmental functions with SDWP's quality placement objectives and strategic partnerships.
- Supervise a team of Business & Community Relations representatives to guarantee accurate information is provided to businesses and community organizations regarding program eligibility and services.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with community organizations and businesses to broaden program outreach.
- Design and implement employer-centric initiatives, delivering exceptional service to business clients to enhance job placements and client satisfaction.
- Utilize CRM tools to manage contacts, monitor project progress, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to guide strategic decisions and demonstrate recruitment success.
- Support training providers to ensure program compliance with industry standards and facilitate connections to employment opportunities in accordance with WIOA training guidelines.
- Develop and execute comprehensive outreach and recruitment strategies from initial lead generation to final enrollment.
- Contribute to organizational performance measures and placement objectives through strategic partnerships.
- Collaborate with internal departments to remain informed about program developments and recruitment needs.
- Ensure alignment of strategies with communication goals, grant stipulations, and program objectives.
- Coordinate orientations for employers and manage job placement technologies.
- Engage in continuous learning and cross-training to provide versatile support across various business programs and services, adapting to changing demands.
- Deliver accurate and timely reporting, activity summaries, and data in compliance with contractual and programmatic requirements.
- Work with Marketing & Communications to integrate various marketing channels (social media, presentations, email, print, etc.) and develop outreach and recruitment strategies for programs.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business management, business administration, or a related field.
- Three to five (3-5) years of supervisory experience in a non-profit or governmental environment.
- Two to four (2-4) years of experience in business and community outreach and recruitment to generate leads and acquire clients in a non-profit or governmental context.
- Experience working with underserved populations; previous program participants are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to engage with job seekers, businesses, other departments, and community partners with a high level of professionalism.
- Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, public speaking, etc.).
- A positive, personable, and enthusiastic demeanor that fosters connections with potential participants and community members.
- Expertise in establishing benchmarks, reporting metrics, and utilizing data to strategically drive activities that yield improved outcomes.
- Knowledge of outreach channels and the ability to deploy multiple platforms to reach diverse audiences; identify opportunities for outreach and recruitment.
- Passionate about the organization's mission and capable of articulating the philosophy, mission, and values to both external and internal audiences.
- Analytical thinking skills, relationship management, and the ability to balance multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage data and communications across platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office, Salesforce).
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Core Competencies
- Master's degree in business management or a related field.
- Experience in developing and maintaining data and dashboards through a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform like Salesforce.
- Ability to identify innovative methods and integrate new ideas.
- Capacity to view issues from multiple perspectives (job seekers, employers, community members, service providers, etc.).
