Key Responsibilities:- Assist anesthesia providers with equipment preparation and maintenance, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of anesthesia care.
- Monitor and maintain anesthesia machines and related equipment, adhering to manufacturer recommendations and department policies.
- Supply and equipment daily routine: assemble and organize equipment as needed, apply monitoring devices to patients, and operate common physiological monitors.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on equipment, respirators, laryngoscopes, and blood pressure cuffs.
- Handle and dispose of contaminated equipment according to established protocols.
- Support and Educational Activities: attend and participate in scheduled department in-service programs and staff meetings, demonstrate awareness of new information posted in the department communication notebook, and participate in continuing education.
- Special Assignments and projects: complete special projects and assignments as directed by the Chief Anesthetist and/or their designated representative.
- Graduate of an Accredited program in Anesthesia Technology with an AS degree or certified by the American Society of Technologists and Technicians (ASATT).
- High school graduate.
- American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians - Technician within 3 months of hire or American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians - Technologist within 3 months of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months of hire.
- Basic Life Support required at hire.
- Two (2) - three (3) years of anesthesia tech experience.
- Advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Basic hygiene concepts.
- Good body mechanics and safe lifting techniques.
- Independent worker able to prioritize activities and work quickly, self-motivated.
- Knowledge and understanding of sterile technique.
- Good listening skills.
