Job Summary:

As an Anesthesia Technician II at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless anesthesia care, while maintaining a focus on safety, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist anesthesia providers with equipment preparation and maintenance, ensuring timely and effective delivery of anesthesia care.
  • Monitor and maintain anesthesia machines and related equipment, adhering to manufacturer's recommendations and departmental policies.
  • Provide support and assistance to patients and healthcare team members, promoting population-based care, continuity of care, and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in creating a high-performance culture based on joint decision-making, promoting a team environment and open communication.
  • Assist with regional blocks and lines as requested, and perform other specific tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Anesthesia Technology or Technologist with an AS degree, or certified by the American Society of Technologists and Technicians (ASATT).
  • Ability to comprehend and carry out hospital policies and procedures, as well as work in stressful situations and respond rapidly to requests.
  • Knowledge of hospital and clinic settings, with OR knowledge preferred.
  • Basic Life Support required at hire, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum two (2) - three (3) years of anesthesia tech experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology, basic hygiene concepts, and good body mechanics and safe lifting techniques.
  • Independent worker able to prioritize activities and work quickly, self-motivated, and with good listening skills.
