Medical Laboratory Specialist

Osceola Medical Center is seeking a qualified MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST OR TECHNICIAN to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Technician, you will play a vital role in providing quality laboratory services in a critical access hospital and outpatient setting.
In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and processing specimens using appropriate technique, performing testing, and verifying assay/analyzer performance. You will also be responsible for testing in various areas, including hematology, coagulation, microbiology, chemistry, urinalysis, and transfusion medicine. Additionally, you will document and communicate lab test results thoroughly and accurately, as well as perform and document assay/analyzer maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of an associate degree in a lab science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and be qualified to work in a high-complex laboratory. Laboratory certification such as ASCP or AMT is also required. If not certified at the time of hire, you must acquire certification within 12 months. A competitive salary of approximately $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, is offered. The typical schedule is 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, with one scheduled holiday a year and no scheduled weekends.
